Naturopathic Oncology is a specialty within the field of naturopathic medicine that applies its principles to the care of people diagnosed with cancer. Naturopathic Oncology provides supportive care for every step of a patient’s journey. This approach is designed to support each patient’s unique health journey in the context of cancer.

 

Cancer Prevention: The goals of naturopathic oncology are to offer preventative care for those patients concerned or at high risk of cancer development. In those patients Dr. Harding provides a comprehensive, personalized naturopathic strategy aimed at reducing the risk of cancer development in combination with evidence-based screening recommendations.

Adjunctive Care During Conventional Treatment: In patients who are undergoing active conventional treatment, naturopathic oncology goals are to increase efficacy of treatment where possible and reduce risk of side effects.

Post Treatment Care: The focus of naturopathic oncology care is to minimize the risk of recurrence for individuals who have successfully undergone treatment. Also, naturopathic oncology can aid with post treatment care in survivorship.

 

What is FABNO board-certification?

Dr. Harding is a Fellow of the American Board of Naturopathic

Oncology Board (FABNO) which is the highest standard for

oncology care in the profession and requires rigorous training

and experience in the field of cancer care.

The criteria for FABNO designation includes:

​

• A 2-year CNME-accredited residency focused on naturopathic oncology, as determined by the ABNO Board of Medical Examiners or being in practice for at least 5 years with 2250 oncology patient contacts.

• Submission of cases for review by designated examiners.

• Completion of 50 Continuing Education (CE) credits in oncology-related topics.

Finally, all approved applicants must pass a board certification exam to earn the FABNO designation. This ensures that they are well-equipped to provide the best possible care to their patients.
